Paul Schlenger

Paul Schlenger is a Principal Fisheries Biologist with over 25 years of experience specializing in salmon biology, aquatic ecology, habitat assessment, fish passage, and habitat restoration planning and design. His extensive work spans marine nearshore and estuarine environments, as well as large and small rivers and lakes throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Paul has a robust background in ecological assessment, focusing on characterizing fish and other aquatic resource distributions in relation to habitat conditions and anthropogenic modifications. He applies this expertise to projects involving restoration and protection planning, prioritization, and habitat restoration design, supporting clients from single project sites to broader watershed planning efforts.

At NSD, Paul leads fisheries initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative, science-based restoration projects that enhance ecological resilience and benefit both natural systems and local communities.
