As Project Geomorphologist for Natural Systems Design and Coastal Geologic Services, Mike specializes in the geomorphic, hydraulic and hydrologic assessment, and design and construction supervision of stream restoration projects. His specialty is evaluating geomorphic processes as they relate to flooding, erosion, the creation and restoration of aquatic habitat, and threats to infrastructure. For the past six years, Mike has performed watershed scale and site specific geomorphic assessments and designed channel and floodplain restoration projects throughout the Western United States. His experience includes project management, field geomorphic assessment, hydraulic modeling, restoration design, bank stability analysis, channel migration studies, risk assessments, and LiDAR terrain analysis.
