As Principal Engineer for Natural Systems Design, Rocky specializes in the design and construction supervision of stream and wetland restoration projects in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Hawaii. In the past 14 years, he has designed and managed projects involving the placement of over 8,000 logs in approximately 30 miles of restored streams and rivers. Rocky has led design efforts for individual projects of up to 200 acres and 250,000 cubic yards of excavation. He is a nationally published expert in design of large wood habitat enhancement, particularly in complex urban areas with surrounding mixed-use commercial and residential land development. Rocky is currently overseeing restoration of Sullivan Creek for the Mill Pond Dam Removal in the Pend Oreille River basin. He also manages the NSD Seattle office of 20 staff.
