Chelsey’s passion for dynamic rivers and healthy fish habitats led her to join the NSD team. She supports watershed and reach scale assessment projects through spatial data (GIS) analysis, mapping, cartography and reporting. Chelsey comes to NSD with five years of experience in environmental remediation providing a unique perspective to river restoration as industry and urbanization continue to encroach on river systems. She has an MS in Applied Geology from the University of Washington and is a Licensed Geologist in Washington state. Her thesis was based on the work she did as an intern for US Forest Service in Colorado where she assisted in establishing and assessing reference areas for monitoring natural recovery following large-scale, widespread floods. When the weather is nice, you can find her running and enjoying the outdoors, but when the weather turns, she enjoys spending her time indoors painting and cooking.
